Release notes: Years-end update!

At the beginning of October we presented our new features for the upcoming update.

Thanks to the beta period we have collected your feedback and now we are almost ready to go live.. With this blog we will give you a little reminder of what is in store for you all.

Home screen

We have made a rather large alteration in the home screen; the blocks are gone and a menu on the left side has arrived.

1. We have moved the search filter to the left; with this search filter you can easily find your reservation by entering a last name or a reservation number. The reservation card will be opened directly after the search,

2. The menu bar on the left gives you the possibility to navigate much faster, you don’t have to go to the homepage before going to another menu; just click on the menu item and it will be shown on the right. If you hit the menu button while the menu is open the menu will disappear so you have more working space.

3. When you open the back office you always start with an overview of the actual reservations; latest reservations changed, the arrivals and the departures. This way you will have the most important data always at your finger tips!

Schedule board

We have added some new features to the schedule board so the reception can work even smarter!

1. The date selection has been extended with an end date field, this allows an even more precise search for an available period.

2. When entering a date selection it is now possible to only show available pitches or accommodations; this gives you a clear view of what is available in the selected period.

3. We always show an available period with a time slot before and after so that the reception can book consecutively to avoid gaps in the planning.

Booking engine

We have improved our booking engine with a faster price calculation and an improved filter option. If you want to know more about these features, check out our webinar which will be scheduled mid- January.

Lists and reports

At our users request we have improved our lists and reports. We have changed from elastic search options to an AI powered search. This allows users to create their own lists and reports by using personal filters and data columns.

Combinations of data

Whereas we previously only could filter on specific data such as reservation or invoice data we can now combine the different data in one filter.

Downloads are now processed in the background, great if you want to export large data sets.. You don’t have to wait for them. Also the Excel format has been improved,some as the CSV. You can find the latest downloads at this page: https://app.camping.care/exports

Add your reports or lists as favourite in the left side menu

In the new update we have made it possible to save your report or list and add it to the left side menu, this way you will always have your lists and reports at hand.
NB: Reports created in the current version will have to be re-created after the update. This is because data is retrieved and displayed in a new way in the new version.

Reports

The reports section has been renewed. It allows us to generate personalized reports, based on your needs. You can remove any report you don’t want to see and we have created more default report templates to choose from.

Overnight stays

The overnight stays report now gives you even more insights in your guests. Like the amount of nights by arrival or departure date. Or even statistics per day and state / province.

Availability & Occupancy

Check your availability, occupancy and filter this per accommodation.

Guests

The guest overview has been changed. The backoffice fields are streamlined now trough-out the whole system. We only show the fields that have been setup in the reservations main traveler form.

Starfish channel report

This calculates the revenue generated by Starfish channels. Such as Booking.com and Pitchup.

Qenner channel report

This calculates the revenue generated by Qenner channels. Such as Booking.com and Pitchup.

Starfish Payment insights

A report to get insights to all your payments and costs related to Starfish Payments.

Invoices

However the invoices largely remained the same, we have added some interesting adjustments.

Saving/ updating an invoice has been improved in speed. It took a long time if you made many changes to the invoice. Now it’s 70% faster. Invoices now always required an attached guest. You are able to send an invoice per e-mail, directly from the interface.

Speed improvements

Switching views in the scheduler are now instant
Updating a guest profile is faster and requires you to hit the save button

Logs

Request log. Now all the POST, PUT and DELETE events are logged. Via this page you can have more insights in the usage of your API. https://app.camping.care/requests

Regular logs are now also available. Did the system sync rates with booking.com or has there been a payment error? You can find it in the logs now. Via the Logs API third parties can log anything what happens in their App and make it available to you. https://app.camping.care/logs

Support

Our support page has been renewed. An integration has been made with Jira, so we can give you better insights in our work; developments, maintenance, bugs and features. We also added a status page, here you can see if all our systems are up and running.

Mobile updates

The UI/ menu is streamlined with the desktop version
Scheduler events are not moving anymore when scrolling with your vingers.
The scheduler has a special button / dialog with all filters.
Lists now have a special button / dialog with all filters.
Editing invoice rows on an ipad has been improved
Reservation navigation and creation has been improved
The UI is now also optimised for iPads

Removed features

The release functionality for group bookings has been removed.
The options box in the reservation has been removed. This was a v1 leftover and not relevant anymore. Because these are already mentioned on the invoice and they were displayed double.

At prices / rates. The period view has been removed. The same result can be achieved with the update price button in the grids overview. All existing periods are migrated to grid prices.
